Humpty Dumpty

My heart has never beat as fast as this

When not caused by acute anxiety

Even when I am just reminiscing

I envision our future's entirety

Near dawn, jotting poems on my laptop

Am I falling in love? I fear it's true

Defensive walls I built, I sit atop

I fear heights, but I'd gladly fall for you

I think I see you prepping to catch me

I'm Humpty Dumpty, but I will not break

Now sliding off the edge of the coping

Anxious, yet trustful you'll help me land safe

Of all the king's horses and the king's men

No one can protect me quite like you can
